Lawmakers are looking into whether or not the FDA was aware of fraudulent data that was used by Ranboxy Laboratories Inc. to get drugs approved for sale in the U.S. There are allegations that the FDA was aware of the fraudulent data and manufacturing violations and did nothing to pull the drugs off the market.

The study part of the "Nurses' Health Study" found that women who drank one or more servings of fruit juice daily were 18% more likely to develope type II diabetes than women who consumed three serving of whole fruit or one serving of green leafy vegetables.

Several doctors in the UK saw a 13 year old girl and diagnosed her meningitis-like symptoms including severe headaches and shortness of breath. As meningitis, Epstein-Bar virus, tumors and one doctor even thought the girl needed a psychiatrist. Eventually the girls mother made the correct diagnosis by using the internet.

This totals to 15 million Americans are injured, killed or infected in the U.S. and not one OSHA ticket is issued.

Due to her fears and her doctor's urging she had both her breasts removed to avoid getting breast cancer. Doc asserts that it is impossible to remove all of the breast tissue and as long as some tissue remains so does the risk of breast cancer.

A doctor quoted in the article contends that this disease is thought to be either a sleep disorder and not enough exercise or a reaction to trauma. Also contending that there is no cure for fibromyalgia. Dr. Wallach strongly disagrees asserting that the same disorder under another name was cured in animals in the 1950's.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story concerning the overdose of several babies. At a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas 17 babies were given an overdose of the blood thinner heparin. This on the heals of actor Dennis Quaid's newborn twins given 1000 times the prescribed dose of heparin last year. In the latest incident one baby had died and one other remains in critical condition.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss recent research that found adding nutrients to the diets of lab gerbils boosted cogintive abilities. After just 4 weeks on a diet supplemented with choline, uridine monophosphate and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) the gerbils improved their ability to navigate mazes and had more brain synapse activity. Thus supporting the theory that nutrition can boost congnitive abilities.
