Graduate students at UC Davis were on strike today (Thursday). Like students at UC Santa Cruz, they are demanding help with housing costs. Davis students say they cannot afford to live where they work. The Davis students want UC Davis to provide a monthly stipend of $1,553.20.
Students at nine campuses throughout the UC system have joined the protest. Besides housing help, they are demanding that charges be dropped against protesting students who were arrested at UC Irvine and UC Santa Cruz.
