There are now plans to partially close the Correctional Training Facility at Soledad next year. For the 2nd time in a year the California Department Of Corrections has announced plans to close 1 prison, and partiall y close 2 more. The current plan is to close the California Correctional Center in Susanville by June 30th of 2022, while also closing the level 1 facility in Soledad (and a similar facility at Tehachapi) the same day. Prison leaders say that these closures will not result in any inmates being released early, however, staff members could be transferred to other facilities.
