Hundreds of people are attending an international conference in Monterey this week. For the first time, the International Crisis Intervention Team Conference is taking place at the Monterey Convention Center. CIT is a community partnership between law enforcement officers, mental health providers, and people living with mental illness. The idea is that the team of people will work together for the better good of people with mental illness who are “in crisis”, and the first responders who interact with them.
