Marlon Coy is due to be sentenced at the end of this month… and will most likely receive a 27-year prison sentence along with a $6 million fine.
Coy pled guilty to 13-felonies and was convicted yesterday. In court, he admitted to starting the Bear Fire, which burned more than 400-acres in the Boulder Creek area in 2017. The blaze destroyed homes and injured firefighters.
Witnesses say Coy burned a campsite with gas and then started torching the wooded hillside near Boulder Creek.
