Covid-19 MCo Ag Workers 08-05-20 05:06 S.S.

Educationalternative  housing,  and  testing  are  being  used  to  hopefully  flatten  the  curve  on  the  number  of  essential  workers  in  the  agricultural  field  who  are  getting  covid-19.     Of  the  nearly  5,000  cases  of  the  virus  in  Monterey  county  since  march….1124  of  those  are  ag  workers.     The  Grower  And  Shippers  Association  says  it’s  partnering  with  hotels  in  the  tri-county area  to  offer  alternative  housing,  and  it  is  also  providing  medical  care  and  food  to  those  who  have  to  isolate.      Officials  with  the  G.S.A.  have  also  partnered  with  Clinica  De  Salud  De  Salinas  to  offer  priority  testing  for  ag  workers….which  means  they  get  their  results  in 2  days….not as  many  as  14-days  as  it has  taken  in the  past.
