While the farmers market offers an outdoor shopping experience, social distancing isn’t possible when vendors and customers are close and in large numbers.
As a result customers of the farmers market are asked to wear face coverings.
Catherine Barr tells KSCO about the importance of facial coverings when shopping…
“If people don’t want to wear a face mask, but what about a face shield?”, asks Barr. “People say ‘I can’t Breathe, I have a medical condition, we get that, but a face shield would be just as proper.”
“You’re basically telling people that you respect (the customers/vendors by wearing a mask).”
Catherine went on to say that mask protestors should “protest in their own driveways”, and that she is up at all hours of the day and night to help maintain health protocol compliance at the Aptos and Monterey farmers markets.
