An officer at Soledad’s Correctional Training Facility was attacked Friday morning. The incident took place shortly after 9 a-m, when the inmate used a prison manufactured weapon to assault the officer as he was being escorted to his cell. Other staff members used pepper spray to subdue 36 year old Micheal Ellison, who is currently on trial for allegedly killing another inmate. The guard received lacerations on the forehead, hand and thigh in the attack, but is expected to make a full recovery.
