Preparations for a possible outbreak of the Corona virus are underway throughout the Central Coast area. In San Benito County, where 2 people have recovered from the virus, a triage tent has been set up at a Hollister hospital, In Monterey County a public testing facility is now operational. There is now 1 confirmed case in Gilroy, and 1 in Santa Cruz, where a public health emergency has been declared, as officials work on a strategy to protect the homeless and the community as a whole.
