Three students at Britton Middle School in Morgan Hill became ill at school on Monday. The principal of the school said that the three girls ingested 12 Coracidin tablets each, causing their behavior to be significantly altered. All three students were rushed to a Gilroy Hospital and treated for severe nausea, and since then, they have made a full recovery. An investigation revealed that a boy at school had sold the Coracidin to the girls and the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case for possible criminal charges. Coricidin is an over-the counter-drug used to treat cold and flu symptoms. When taken in excess, the medication may cause hallucinations and intoxication.
