A Salinas man pleaded guilty today to killing his girlfriend, a U.S. Postal Service worker, over 2 years ago. 47-year old Edward Gardner pleaded guilty to murder in the 2nd degree after officers found the woman fatally stabbed in her bedroom on February 7th of 2008. Gardner, who was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 1994, is slated to be sentenced on December 2nd to serve 35-years to life in prison due to the prior conviction and it’s qualification as a violent felony.
