A man on trial for 1st degree murder was found guilty today. Donald ray parker was convicted of shooting and killing 26-year-old Dwayne choates junior in seaside in november of 2010. Parker was convicted of committing the murder under what is deemed a “special circumstance,” because of the way he waited outside of choates’ apartment, with the intent to kill choates. The enhancement means that parker will be sentenced to life without out paraole. A hearing has been scheulded for april 27th, to determine how many of parker’s crimes will carry felony “strikes” under the state’s 3-strikes law.
