The top 3 winners of the 2021 Art Competition in the 20th Congressional District have been announced. This year’s winner was Sophia Lamarque of Santa Catalina High School, for her piece titled “Another Generation”. Second Place went to Carmel High School senior Hayley Armstrong, for her piece titled “Ellis Of Monterey”; and 3rd place went to Christie Vick, a sophomore at the Georgiana Bruce Kirby Preparatory School for her picture titled “Pollution, Trash”. The First Place picture will be displayed in the nation’s Capitol building for a year, while the 2nd place picture will hang in Congressman Jimmy Panetta’s office in Washington, D.C.; and the 3rd place picture will be displayed in Congressman Panetta’s Santa Cruz office.
