Dear Mrs. Zwerling, I'm not sure if you have some of your facts incorrect or if you are intentionally misleading people. You say, "during [Obama's] stay in the Senate he never voted Yes of No on anything. He always voted Present, which means that he did not vote at all. Obama DID vote "present" 130 times during his 8 years in the Illinois Senate. However, nearly 4,000 votes were a solid "yes" or "no". Re abortion: I spent 18 days in the ICU while pregnant. I appreciate Obama's abortion votes which protect the life of the mother. I also appreciate his votes to protect doctors right to provide medical care without the fear of jail time. I appreciate your commentary. It DID make me fact check, "Did Obama always vote present? Seriously????" I learned what a present vote means. I learned today to do my research for myself, rather than relying on commentary from either the right or left! Thanks for that!
