Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing human longevity. Asserting that humans have the genetic ability to live to be at least 140 years possibly more. Outlining how he has studied cultures that traditionally live longer than Americans. Citing several of the common threads these peoples share such as no health insurance or medical doctors.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss several news stories involving doctors who are in trouble for medical mistakes and lax medical hygiene. The first story concerns a cosmetic surgeon who had a patient die of a lung embolism. Another cosmetic surgeon cut a patient's nose completely off because an alledged infection then refuse the patient further treatment. Finally an article concern the UK's Health Department recommending in 2007 that doctors not wear ties. Resulting in some doctors shedding their white coats and dressing so causually as to appear "scruffy".
