Monologue

Dr. Peter Glidden fills in for Dr. Wallach and starts the show discussing flu vaccines. Contending that flu vaccines don't work and should be avoided unless you want to get the flu. Outlining that the government takes tax money and gives it to pharmaceutical companies to make flu vaccines. Once they are made then the companies use big advertising campaigns to push the vaccines. He also notes that there are several strains of flu and the government experts can only guess as to which strain will be prevelant the next season.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Glidden continue talking about flu vaccines. Doug cites a Canadian study that found people who took the flu vaccine in the 2008 to 2009 season were actually more likely to get the H1N1 flu than those not vaccinated. As these vaccines depress the immune system for up to 3 months making it easier for influenza to attack the body.

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

I wrote this in August 2008, and it is still relevant today.

There is much justified concern about the Social Security System possibly not existing in the foreseeable future for those who have been putting into the system for many years.

It is been a national disgrace that members of our Congress have been raiding the system.  Arbitrarily, they chose to take money out of the Social Security fund, which was specifically set up for those who were paying into the system with the expectation of receiving monthly payments starting at age 65.

Congress ignored that rules and transferred that fund into the General Fund so that they could help themselves to millions of dollars for projects in their own constituencies, often ridiculous projects.

For many years, they have taken the money and left instead IOU’s.

Now, those leaders are crying crocodile tears because the Social Security funds are almost gone, and the system will be broke in the near future.

The Congressional thieves are totally responsible and should be forced to put back what they stole, from their own personal bloated salaries and pensions.

Well, will that happen?  Of course not.  We the People, as usual, will pick up the tab because Social Security must continue to exist for all those Americans who in good faith trusted the government with their money.

By the way, isn’t it way past time to have term limits in Congress?  Presidents and Vice Presidents have term limits.  There are too many scoundrels who make being in Congress a lifetime job.

Their own foolish constituents continue to vote them into office thinking that their experience makes them valuable.  Bull-puckie!

It is the opposite.  The longer they remain in Congress, the more entrenched, cockier, and more corrupt they become.

Finally, a two-year term is adequate.  After that, they become callous, and sneak in earmarks.  Term limits for Congress should be a priority, but it will never happen unless We the People demand it!
