Burglary 01/10/13 7:45a.m. TDH

A 21-year-old man was arrested early wed morning after allegedly fighting with salinas police officers.  at about 2 a.m, officers were called to a motel on the 12-hundred block of de la torre street, to respond to a report that a man had broken into a trailer in the parking lot.  Officers encountered Fabian puga, who refused to cooperate.  After a brief standoff, officers entered the trailer and arrested puga.  He was found to have a felony warrant out for his arrest, and is now facing additional charges of burglary and resisting arrest.

 

Victim IDd 01/10/13 7:45a.m. TDH

Authorities in salinas have identified the victim in 1-of 2 Monday-night homicides.  22-year-old jose moris Serrano morales was shot on hebbron street just after 9 p.m.   first responders found morales suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  As of this morning, no arrests had been made, but the incident remains under investigation.

 

Pge outages back on (SAL) 01/10/13 7:45a.m. TDH

Some pg and e customers in salinas were without power for a while last night.  3-separate outages cut power to several residents at about 6 p.m.    all customers were back on-line by about 11:30 p.m.     pg and e is investigating the cause of the outages.

life for murder of baby 01/10/13 7:45a.m. TDH

A Greenfield man has been sentenced to life-in-prison, for killing a 10-month-old child.    21-year-old diego burgos will be eligible for parole in 37-years.  he was convicted in September of beating the baby to death, as well as felony child endangerment and felony child abuse.  The boy’s mother is also facing felony child endangerment charges, she is set to appear in court january 30TH.

School vandalized 01/10/13 7:45a.m. TDH

A santa cruz middle school was vandalized overnight.  School officials at mission hill middle school discovered the vandalism this morning—a few storage sheds At the king street school had been broken into and smashed-up.  santa cruz police are trying to locate any security cameras in the area that might have captured the suspects’ images.
