GONZALEZ GYM FIRE SUSPECTS ARRESTED 5/7/13 3:00p DMF
TWO 16-YEAR-OLD GONZALES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SUSPECTED OF SETTING THE SCHOOLS GYMNASIUM ON FIRE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED. ACCORDING TO INVESTIGATORS THE EARLY MORNING FIRE ON APRIL 30th CAUSED OVER 1 AND A HALF MILLION IN DAMAGES. SEARCH WARRANTS WERE SERVED AT THE TWO STUDENTS HOUSES AFTER INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED LINKING THEM TO THE FIRE AND THEY CONFESSED TO THE ARSON. THE TWO ARE BEING HELD IN MONTEREY COUNTY JUVENILE HALL ON CHARGES OF ARSON, BURGLARY AND CONSPIRACY.
SALINAS POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A CASE OF CHILD MOLESTATION INVOLVING A VOLUNTEER AT THE MARINA YOUTH CENTER. FOLLOWING SEVERAL VICTIMS COMING FORWARD BILLY SEABOLT WAS ARRESTED SUNDAY AND BOOKED ON CHARGES OF CHILD MOLESTATION AND LEWD ACTS ON A MINOR. THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING; SEABOLT WAS SCHEDULED TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE IN COURT TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THE SALINAS POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ASKING THAT ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE CASE CONTACT THEM.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the Flexner report calling for medical reform. That reform resulted in the growth of pharmaceutical style medicintion. Now over 100 years later we have more than 50% of all Americans taking at least one prescription medication. By the time Americans reach the age of 60 nearly 40% are taking at least 5 medications or more.

Researchers examined these numbers and ranked 186 countries with the U.S. ranking 68th. With 11,3000 babies dying on the day they were born which is 50% more than all the other industrialized nations combined. Ranking behind Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait these facts are ones Dr. Wallach has been citing for several years.
