Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the epidemic of weight gain and obesity in the U.S. Asserting that no matter what type of diets people use they will not be able to lose weight and keep it off. Contending that the root cause of obesity and weight gain is a mineral deficiency.

Billy Graff fills in for Doug Winfrey. He and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent report that teens getting suffering from acne actually have worse breakouts while under stress. They also discuss a study showing babies suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome may be helped by choline suppliments.

Nurse JoAnn Conaway fills in for Dr. Wallach.  JoAnn discusses a news report about a new products being marketed by Coca Cola and Pepsico.  The new products are colas fortified with nutrients.  JoAnn contends that this defeats the purpose because the carbonation with cause malabsorbtion.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and JoAnn Conaway discuss a news article concerning CT scans.  A recent study done at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center found that CT scans don't prevent lung cancer deaths or prevent advanced cases.

Dr. Wallach discusses the importance of anitioxidants in the diet for good health.  Outlining the various Youngevity products that are rich in antioxidants.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story regarding a proposed FDA approval of an antibiotic for cows.  Despite a recommendation from and FDA advisory panel to reject approval of the drug cefquinome.  The drug would be used to treat bovine respiratory disease a common disease.  However, more than a dozen antibiotics are alread on the market and are all still effective.
