WATSONVILLE WOMAN WAS ARRESTED LAST WEEK ON CHILD ABUSE CHARGES. 18 YEAR OLD BARBARA GARCIAWAS ARRESTED THURSDAY EVENING. THE ARREST WAS THE RESULT OF A POLICE INVESTIGATION, PROMPTED BY ACALL FROM A NEIGHBOR ON THE 500 BLOCK OF CALIFORNIA STREET EARLIER THAT AFTERNOON. THE NEIGHBOR HADHEARD SOUNDS OFWOMAN HITTING A CHILD. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, THE 15 MONTH OLD GIRLWAS UNCONSCIOUS WITH BRUISING ON THE FACE. SHE WAS HOSPITALIZED WITH A TRAUMATIC HEAD INJURY. DURING THE INVESTIGATION, ANOTHER NEIGHBOR APPROACHED OFFICERS WITH A CELLPHONE VIDEO, TAKEN THE DAY BEFORE OF GARCIA BEATING THE CHILD.  GARCIA WAS BOOKED INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY JAIL

THE WOMAN REPORTED MISSING LAST WEEK HAS BEEN FOUND.   58 YEAR OLD LINDA LEE YOUNGER , THE LIVE OAKWOMAN MISSING SINCE TUESDAY HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE.  A GOOD SAMARITANALERTED BY NEWS REPORTS,RECOGNIZED THE WOMAN’S CAR IN A REMOTE AREA OF NISENE MARKS FOREST, AND CALLED AUTHORITIES. A SANTA CRUZ COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY FOUND THE WOMAN INCAPACITATED. SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO AN AREA HOSPITAL.

live oak resident linda lee younger, has been missing since tuesday.  the 58 year old is 5’ 7” tall , with green eyes and BROWN hair,  was last seen at her doctor’s office around 10:30 a-m  tuesday morning.  she drives a  white toyota camry, WITH license number 6kkh607.  anyone with any information is encouraged to call santa cruz county sheriff’s dispatch at (831) 471-1121

a seaside store was robbed thursday night.  an armed man disguised with a black mask wearing a black hoody robbed

the metro pcs store on freemont blvd around 6 p-m the robber fled on foot , the suspect is about 5 foot 7 inches, anyone with any information should call the seaside police department

capitola city council weighed its options at last nights meeting over the possible fine it faced for non- compliance to the affordable healthcare act.   the COUNCIL VOTED 4 to zero to extend healthcare benefits to the long-term, part-time worker who was the only city employee without insurance. the coverage will cost the city 2,800 the other option would have been to cut the employee’s hours.
