Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

After an extensive drug regiment some patients received heart stents for blocked arteries. Other patients received a placebo treatment with same outcome regarding their symptoms. Meaning patients in the past who were given stents for arteries that were not blocked probably should have gotten a stent.

Stating that if Americans would make lifestyle changes and use supplements they too could live longer. Contending that is possible to reverse chronic health challenges by the same method.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a study of open heart surgeries. French researchers studied nearly 600 people who had heart valve replacement surgery. Following them for 500 days to identify any major cardiac events such as heart attack, heart failure or death. Half of the patients had their surgeries in the morning and half had them in the afternoon. Those getting afternoon surgery had a 50% lower risk of a major cardiac event. Those with the later day surgery also had less heart tissue damage. Researchers believe this is because the later surgery syncs with the body's circadian clock.

The study of 113,000 pregnant women those taking acetaminophen during pregnancy their chidren were more likely to diagnosed with ADHD. Later receiving a $3000 anesthesiology bill because the anesthesiologist was not in her network.

With antidepressants only effective about 60% of the time with negative side effects it's time for an alternative. It's called "transcranial magnetic stimulation" or TMS where magnetic pulses are beamed deep into the patients brain. Changing the way depression symptoms are perceived. Patients contend it not only changed their depression symptoms they say it also reduced their pain.

A study from the National Institute of Aging found that adult monkeys who go 30% less food males tended to live two years longer and females six years compared to monkeys that got more food. Researchers believe that the results would be the same in humans.

Stating that a study was done involving domestic violence. Comparing to counties in Texas where one county had a lot of domestic violence in the other county it was practically nonexistent. The difference was that the county without domestic violence had a particular mineral in their drinking water. The county with a lot of domestic violence the mineral was missing from the water.

The study looked at the death rates from nearly 30 types of cancer in all 3100 counties in the U.S. over the past 35 years. Finding that although nationwide cancer death rates have gone down by nearly 50%. Unfortunately in some poorer counties cancer death rates have increased nearly 50%.
