Dr. Wallach starts the show talking about the announcement from KB Toys of an impending bankrupcy.  Asserting that now is a great time to start a home-based business.  Contending that each year in the U.S. $50 billion is spent on weight loss and then outlines several of the Yougevity and Suzanne company weight loss products.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a Spanish study on the Mediterranean diet.  Those in the study who augmented the diet with a handful of raw nuts daily reduced their risk of the "metabolic syndrome" by 14%.  The ''metabolic syndrome" is defined as people who have three or more of the following conditions;abdominal obesity, high triglycerides, low levels of "good" cholesterol, high blood sugar and hypertension.
