Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts todays show discussing the "Big 3" (automakers) desires of government bailouts.  Doc asserts that one of the main reasons these companies and other are in trouble is the high cost of healthcare.  Contending that this is why many companies have moved to foreign countries.  Explaining that people need to "recession-proof" their lives by starting a home-based business.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a study that indicates fast track approvals of drugs is harming the American people.  Outlining that drugs are now approved in about half the time it used to take prior to the 1992 Prescription Drug User Fee Act.  Contending that the closer to deadline a drug is approved the more likely it will later require strong safety warnings or be pulled from the market.
