Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the high cost of health care.  Comparing it to other industries such as auto and home repairs where high costs drove consumers to start the "do-it-yourself" concept.  Doc contends that the same is true with the health system the less we use it and the more we do for ourselves the lower costs might go.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a  report put out by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  The report is recommending that most children from infants to teens aren't getting enough vitamin D3.  Contending that children as well as adults should be supplementing with at least 400 units daily.   While the government contends they need to study this in more depth to decide if they need to change their guide lines from the current 200 units daily.
