Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a study that found deaths from medication errors at home increased 700%.  These errors are caused mostly from interactions between drugs and other drugs or alcohol.  Of course the medical community is blaming this on the patients.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a government study.  The study found that preventable medical errors resulted in a 10% death rate within 90 days of surgery.  These preventable errors cost employers medical plans 1.5 billion dollars in one year between 2001 and 2002.
