Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing longevity.  Outlines the death of the chief surgeon at Harvard Medical School who died at age 60 with MS, lymphoma and melanoma.  Then compares this to a man who has lived 58 years in a mental institution and is 112 years old and still going strong.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story regarding a probe now underway investigating the FDA.  Lawmakers are looking into whether or not the FDA was aware of fraudulent data that was used by Ranboxy Laboratories Inc. to get drugs approved for sale in the U.S.  There are allegations that the FDA was aware of the fraudulent data and manufacturing violations and did nothing to pull the drugs off the market.
