Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the numbers of prescriptions written annually in the U.S for high blood pressure.  Asserting that these hypertension drugs are not needed.  Contending that with a proper diet, nutritional supplementation and exercise high blood pressure can be controlled.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss two news article regarding the high cost of healthcare.  The first article is a report that discloses the salary of the CEO for  McKesson the nation's largest drug distributor.  The CEO for McKesson a John Hammergren makes over 27 million annually.  The second article discussed is about another report from the California Medical Association.  This report states that HMO's in the state of California made in excess of $4 billion in profits last year.
