Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the news story about a new law that states Medicare and Medicaid will not pay for "re-do" procedures.  Basically meaning that if a doctor screws up and cuts of the wrong leg the second surgery to remove the correct leg will be paid for by the doctor.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss two recent news stories.  The first concerns the FDA approving Nexium for children ages 1 to 11.  Next they discuss an article about a doctor who did nothing while another doctor expidited a patients death to harvest organs.  The second doctor has been indicted on three felonies.  The doctor who watched was given immunity for her testimony and claims she did nothing because she "only an independent observer".
