Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing a woman who recently died at the age of 96.  She ate hamburgers every meal and worked 18 hours a day.  Doc contrasts this against doctors who watch their cholesterol but die on average by age 58.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent research study concerning folic acid supplementation.  The study found that women who supplemented with vitamin for at least a year before conceiving had a lower risk of a premature delivery.  The supplementation reduced very early pre-term births (20-28 weeks) by 70% and premature birhts (28-32 weeks) by 50%.
