Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the most recent shooting in Omaha, Nebraska.  Asserting that among other things the 17 year old was most likely nutritionally deficient.  Also outlining the "holiday trap" of increased availability of sugary treats that lead to weight gain.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding medical mistakes.  The article outlines some of the medical errors that made headlines in the past year.  Also citing a report from HealthGrades an independent health care-ratings company that found 3 out of every 100 patients entering the hospital is a risk of a hospital error.
