Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the problem of obesity in children and behavioral problems. Asserting that they are both related in the fact that they are nutritionally based problems. Contend that with a proper diet and supplementation both issues can be eradicated.
Pearls of Wisdom
Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss two recent news stories. The first concerns a recent study funded by Pfizer that found a 30% increased risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attacks, strokes and death if patients switch from Lipitor to Zocor or the generic simvastatin. Coincidentally, the British National Health Service is set to switch from more expensive "name" brands to generics. The second article concerns a study that found a link between increased ADHD symtoms in children and preservatives and artificial food colorings in juices. Doc disagrees contending it is the sugar in the juices that is the problem.
