Monologue

Dr. Wallach just back from continuing education to maintain his medical license relates a conversation with a medical doctor.  The doctor was exclaiming that the medical industry was in a poor state because the government announced that Medicare will no longer pay to correct medical mistakes.  Doc applaudes this decision contending that is something he has been wanting for 43 years.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent news article concerning maternal death rates.  The article states that in 2003 the maternal death rates rose above 10 per 100,000 births since 1977.  Experts are blaming maternal obesity and an increase in Caesarean sections.  Twenty nine percent of all births in the U.S. last year were by C-section.
