Monolouge

Pharmacist Ben Fuchs fills in for Dr. Wallach. Ben discusses the importance of the immune system in protecting the body from disease and illness. Also outlining the importance of the digestive system in building a strong and effective immune system. Asserting the "leaky gut syndrome" is most likely the most common compromise of the digestive system. This syndrome allows the wrong types of food particles to enter the body.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug and Ben discuss a news story concerning sun screens. The article and Ben assert that the marketing of sun screens actually adds to the risk of skin cancer. The increased risk lies in the false sense of security that is created by people feeling they are "protected" against the sun's harmful rays. Unfortunately, sun screens don't protect the band of UV (ultra violet) light that actually causes cancer. Sun screens protect against UVB the burning ray. While it is UVC that causes cancer and skin aging.
