Monologue

Dr. Wallach discusses weight loss and outlines the various programs provided by Youngevity.  Citing the "Slender FX", "Nature's Whey", "Nature's Whey" nutrition bars and the "Ferret Fat Pack" as good products to help promote weight loss.  Asserting that weight gain is actually caused because of nutrtional deficiencies.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent news article concerning the injectable drug "Gestiva".  Adeza Biomedical Corp.  is currently petitioning the FDA to approve the drug to prevent premature babies.  The drug was originally approved in 1956 a therapy to prevent miscarriages.  But the FDA withdrew it's approval in 2000 because the manufacturer stopped selling the drug.  Currently the FDA is saying that one single clinical trial was not  "statistically persuasive" as well as concerns the drug may increase the miscarriage and stillborn rates.

Callers

  • Melissa is calling back to let Dr. Wallach that she is now 6 months pregnant.  She had previously called to get nutritional advice prior to trying to get pregnant.
  • Bernie has questions concerning eye floaters.
  • Dora is experiencing pain in her side following meals.
  • Carol has a 16 year old dog diagnosed with a heart murmur.

Monologue

Dr. Wallach discusses the Avian flu citing a news story concerning wild swans found in the Great Lakes region that were infected.  Recommending his H5N1Bird Flu CD as a good resource for learning about this impending pandemic.  Also correlating the 1918 Spanish flu that killed 500,000 in this country and millions world wide.  Asserting that is imperative people prepare themselves with extra food, water, medical supplies etc.

Pearl of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news story regarding a man 100 years old that attributes his longevity to taking daily cold showers.  The article also outlines how someone born in 1900 would have expected to live to be 47.3 years old and someone born in 2002 can expect to live to be 77.3 years old.  An expert on gerontology attributes the increased longevity to declines in infant mortality, improvements in public health, vaccines, prevention of killer diseases and a clean water supply.  Doc disagrees citing statistics regarding infant mortality as well as the amounts of people killed, maimed and injured by the medical industry each year.
