Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing a news article about opioid addictions. Drug overdose deaths are spiking now with opioid deaths accounting for 16%. In total 15 million people per year are killed, infected or injured by the medical system every year.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a new drug the FDA has just approved. The drug helps clear up the symptoms of eczema. Unfortunately the new drug Dupixent costs $37,000 per year however that is cheaper than Humira and Enbrel prescribed for psoriasis costs $50,000 per year. Doc asserts that these skin disorders are the result of nutritional deficiencies. Which can be prevented and reversed through nutritional supplementation.

Asserting that at first she worked in a pharmacy filling pharmaceutical prescriptions. She started noticing that return customers started out with one drug. Then as time went on these same customers were filling more and more prescriptions until they were taking several different drugs. Causing her shift gears and move more towards nutrition as a way to treat health challenges.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing healthcare costs. Asserting that the cost of healthcare is skyrocketing whether it be insurance or medical care all costs are increasing. Contending that people should take charge of their own healthcare. Stating that tests done in a doctors can be done safely at home for pennies on the dollar compared to a office visit.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study from Australia. Researchers gave sciatica patients either a placebo or the pain killer pregabalin (Lyrica). After eight weeks researchers found that the placebo did as well at reducing pain as the drug. Meaning doctors should stop prescribing it for sciatica patients. Warning that patients currently taking pregabalin should not stop cold turkey for fears of seizures.

In fact vitamin C worked 10 times better than a cancer pharmaceutical. Working better than 6 other substances tested in the study. Recommending that people with cancer should turn to intravenous vitamin C therapy.
