Dr. Wallach starts todays show discussing men's health.  Doc recommends that all men should start the health program with 90 essential nutrients and recommends several Youngevity products to accomplish this goal.  Also recommending several products that help men to look younger.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent research study by the National Cancer Institute.  The researchers analyzed data from the diet and health study from the National Institutes of Health.  Looking at data from nearly 100,000 women checking their BMI (body mass index) at ages 18, 35 and 50.  Also tracking the women who developed breast cancer and found that those who gained significant weight after age 18 had a 50% increased risk of breast cancer.

Dr. Wallach starts the show today discussing women's health.  Stating that all women should start their health program by getting the 90 essential nutrients from products such as Youngevity's "Ultra Body Toddy" or the "Ultimate Classic".  But he also recommends that women use the "Mineral Make-Up" the only product on the market of it's kind.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news artcile concerning toxins in blood streams of our children.  A recent study found that some children had up to seven times the amount of some industrial toxins in their blood than did their parents.  The main culprits were flame retardents known as PBDE's known to cause thyroid dysfunction in lab tests on animals.  The other chemical was phthalates used in plastics as a softener.  In lab animals this chemical was linked to reproductive defects, obesity and early puberty.

Dr. Wallach begins todays show discussing the 2 million people infected each year in medical system settings.  Outlining recent news stories regarding the spread of MRSA's (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) into schools, gyms, prisons and day care centers.  Doc asserts that all Americans need to educate themselves and their children on proper personal hygene.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss the most recent report the quality of health care in hospitals.  In areas of the north eastern and southern regions of the U.S.  less than 7% of hospitals received a "top-performing" rating.  Researchers estitmate that if all hospitals were performing at the same high level more than 260,000 lives could have potentially been saved.  The best performing hospitals were in the northern midwest regions of the country.

Pharmacist Ben Fuchs fills in for Dr. Wallach. Ben outlines his credentials as a skin care expert asserting that many skin problems are signs of other more serious health challenges. Also outlining various nutritional strategies for combating these health challenges.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a couple of recent research studies on flax seed and ginseng combating cancer. The studies both funded by government agencies were looking for any health benefits from these supplements in treating cancer. The flax seed study found that after taking 30 grams of flax seed for 30 days cancer cell growth was slowed by 30-40% when compared to the control group. In the ginseng study after taking either 1000 mg or 2000 mg daily patients reported fatigue symptoms were "moderately better" or "much better" by 25% and 27% respectively.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent report from the CDC.  The report found that 90,000 people a year are contracting MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) infections.  This is resulting in 18,650 deaths nationally in 2005 in the same year AIDs killed 17,011 Americans.

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the importance of mineral supplementation.  Stating that the notion "you can get everything you need from the 4 food groups" is wrong.  Asserting that in the past before the industrial revolution most people had gardens and they put the ash from their fires into their gardens.  Contending that the ash itself is actually the minerals from the wood.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a recent news article concerning the importance of eating a healthy breakfast to start the day.  Studies have found that those who eat a good breakfast are less likely to be over-weight and more likely to exercise.  Other studies have found that eating protein for breakfast is also important.  Those eating high protein breakfasts eat less calories for lunch and over the next 24 hours.
