Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

The warning states that some 600,000 patients who had open heart surgery are at risk for a potential infection. The patients could possibly been infected with a bacterial species of nontuberculous mycobacterium (NTM). The possible infection stems from a device used during surgery to warm and cool a patients blood and organs. The infection causes several symptoms including night sweats, muscle aches, joint pain, weight loss fatigue and fever. Some infected patients have even died because of the slow moving growth of the bacteria diagnosis can take months.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article on PSA (prostate specific antigen) tests. In 2012 U.S. Preventative Services Task Force put out new guidelines regarding PSA tests. Recommending that men should not undergo routine screening for prostate cancer at any age. Stating the tests are not reliable enough at detecting prostate cancer. Contending the harms of the test such as false positives do not outweigh potential benefits. A recent study looked at medical records at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center between 2010 and 2015. Finding since the new guidelines were release the number of PSA tests performed has not gone down.

Stating this is because many have a gluten intolerance and aren't absorbing nutrients. Citing a one hundred year study that found there aren't any minerals left in the range and crop soils.

The author of the article recommends lifestyle and dietary changes to prevent cancer. One change is something Dr. Wallach recommends and that is avoiding eating oils. Because they are known to increase inflammation which can be lead to chronic disease.
