Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing the floods in Texas. Stating this is an example of a disaster that everyone should be prepared to live through. Contending people should have plenty of food, medicine, water and nutritional supplements. Because it's only a matter of time before some disaster strikes whether they be natural of man made.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a report out from the Health and Human Services inspector general. Stating abuse of elderly in nursing homes is not being reported as required by federal law. Using medical records to find possible cases of elderly being sexually or physically abused. Finding several obvious cases that were not reported to the authorities.

Stating that people with metal-on-metal hip replacements should be tested regularly for metal toxicity. It seems these have been linked an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing brain health. Outlining several brain related problems such as dementias, Alzheimer's, bi-polar disoder, depression and anxiety. Contending they are all due to nutritional deficiencies. Stating that through nutritional supplementation these can be reversed.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a report out from the CDC. The report states that in a 15 year period from 1999 to 2014 prescriptions for antidepressants increased by 65%. With one fourth the people surveyed who were taking these medications had been on them for over ten years. Children as young as 12 are being prescribed these drugs. With experts saying this trend with continue to rise.
