Pacific  Grove  city  council  members  are  expected  to  weigh-in  on  a  variety  of  issues  when  they  meet  tomorrow.      Among  other  things,  they  are  looking  into  the  formation  of  a  Regional  Joint  Powers  Authority,  to  handle  future  fire  services  in  the  city;    whether  the  Architectural  Review  Board,  or  the  Historic  Resources  Committee,   will  handle  future  issues  on  historic  sites  in  Pacific  Grove;   and  if  there  should  be  a  new  policy  (or  ordinances)  created  regarding  the  use  of  leaf  blowers  in  the  city.

Free  admission,  to  the  Monterey  Bay  Aquarium,   is  being  offered  to  tri-county  residents  this  holiday  season.   Santa  Cruz,  Monterey,  and  San  Benito  county  residents,  who  bring  a  photo  id,  and  proof  of  residency (or  students  who  attend  any  tri-county  area  university  or  community  college)  can  visit  the  Aquarium  between  10  a.m.  and  5  p.m.

A  man,   who  stole  from  a  car  dealership  he  had  been  fired  from,   has  been  arrested.    The  man  faces  possible  charges  of  embezzlement  and  possession  of  stolen  property.    Anyone  with  information  on  this  case  is  encouraged  to  contact  the  Morgan  Hill  Police  Department.

A  man  was  arrested  at  a  Santa  Cruz  high  school  this  morning.    27  year-old  Milton  Miller  was  arrested  after  he  walked  onto  the  Natural  Bridges  High  School  campus  with  a  machete  on  his  back.     Miller  was  asked  to  leave  the  campus,  and  he  was  arrested  nearby.

(08:55) Santa Cruz County - Caltrans announced daytime full road closures of Highway 35/Skyline Road in Santa Cruz/Santa Clara Counties for slip out repairs will continue through next Tuesday. The construction project is taking place between the junction of Bear Creek Road/Skyline and Thompson Road with full daytime closures weekdays from 6 am to 6 pm.    For traffic updates in Santa Cruz County visit dot.ca.gov.


(08:00) Santa Cruz -  A juvenile was arrested over the weekend after he was caught with a gun.  The Santa Cruz County Anti Crime team came across the 15 year-old as he abruptly ran in front of their vehicle on the 100 block of Park Place, in the Beach Flats area.  Officers attempted to contact the juvenile, but he fled when ordered to stop.  After a short foot chase the juvenile was caught, and he was found to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana and evidence of gang participation.  Anyone with information on this case or any other gang related case is encouraged to call (831) 454-2320.

(07:20) Capitola - The Capitola Police Officers’ Association presented WomenCare with a check for $13,000.  The Association raised money throughout the month of October in an effort to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer.  Money was raised from pink Patch Sales, donations from local businesses, the Capitola Public Safety and Community Service Foundation, the city of Capitola, and donations from community members.  WomenCare is a local charitable organization that provides emotional and financial support to individuals fighting cancer in Santa Cruz County.  For more information on WomenCare visit: fsa-cc.org. 

A  Castroville  man  has  become  the  first  Monterey  county  resident  to  win  both   the  Big  Sur  Marathon,  and  The  Monterey  Bay  Half  Marathon.      31  year-old  Daniel Tapia   won  Sunday’s  race  with  a  time  of  1  hour,  3  minutes  and  35  seconds .      Tapia  was  running  the  13.1  mile  race  in  a  field  of  50  elite  runners.
