Coho Salmon-5/7/17-1033-PMD

(10:48) DAVENPORT- Volunteers for the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project hatchery were at work north of Davenport last week. On Wednesday the volunteers released the last of roughly 25 hundred, one year old Coho salmon  into Scott Creek. The juvenile salmon have been tagged and researchers will be monitoring for returns of adult Coho in about 18 months. The effort is part of an attempt to boost numbers of the endangered species in local waters. Santa Cruz county is at the southern end of the habitat for the once plentiful endangered Coho Salmon.
