A holiday riptide warning is in effect across the Bay Area coastline. A coastal hazard alert was issued today for beaches extending from Sonoma County to Monterey. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service say strong winds developing over the Pacific Ocean are expected to bring strong riptides and sneaker waves as high as 10-feet to the Northern California Coast. People are being warned to stay off all rocks near beaches during the Thanksgiving holiday, and to keep about 700-feet away from the water’s edge. Expect a decrease in tides by tomorrow night (thurs).
