The 2nd meetng in a series of community gatherings focusing on easing drug and alcohol related problems took place Thursday night. Almost 1 hundred and 40 people showed up for the event at simpkins family swim center. The meeting was split into groups which each focused on issues such as; public safety, mental health and other public concerns that pertain to substance abuse and recovery from it. Over half of santa cruz county’s annual jail bookings are related to drug and alcohol abuse.
