Volunteers helped the group save our shores remove nearly 17-hundred pounds of pollution from Monterey bay beaches. The clean up event was held on tuesday, at several beaches in Monterey and santa cruz counties. Just less than 14-hundred pounds was garbage, while the remaining amount were recyclables. The 5th of july “star spangled cleanup” is now the 2nd-largest such event of the year for the conservation group. Ranked by pounds of pollution removed, santa cruz’s seabright beach was the dirtiest, followed by cowell’s, and panther beach.
