A claim has been settled between a former U.C.S.C. student and the university. A university-wide insurance program will pay 1.15 million dollars to the student, who claimed a professor raped her back in 2015. The professor reportedly resigned from teaching there (when disciplinary proceedings began shortly after the incident). This case was just 1 of 5 initiated at the Santa Cruz campus in recent years.
