Facial coverings will be enforced and although beaches will be closed in the city of Monterey, ocean activities will still be allowed. That announcement was made shortly after Governor Gavin Newsom said that parking will be closed at all state beaches. The city plans to enforce the mandatory wearing of facial coverings both inside and outside in business districts….and fines of 100 dollars could be issued for a first violation.
