The City of Chualar is investigating it’s 1st murder to occur in almost 2 years. The 1:40 p.m. incident occurred yesterday when 2 or 3 young men were seen approaching a woman pushing an ice-cream cart down Main Street and firing several shots at her. Deputies believe the woman was the intended target since no one else was around at the time of the shooting. A perimeter was set up around a nearby apartment complex after one of the gunmen was seen running into one of the apartments. No arrests were made. Anyone with any information, is asked to contact the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department.
