The California Highway Patrol (CHP) here in Santa Cruz, will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) and driver license safety checkpoint after 1PM this Saturday (April 20, 2019) somewhere within the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County.
CHP is required to announce checkpoints 48-hours prior to setting them up. The actual location is available 2-hours before the checkpoint becomes operational.
The CHP reminds motorists that a sobriety/driver license checkpoint is a proven effective tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions caused by impaired drivers.
