California Highway Patrol went on a chase that ended with a standoff, causing a brief shutdown of Highway 101 on Sunday afternoon.
The pursuit started at Highway 101 at Laurel Drive.
CHP states that the driver did not pull over for a traffic violation and began a pursuit at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
This chase ended by spiking the tires of the vehicle at the intersections of Highway 101 and Highway 129 near Betabel Road.
The driver refused to cooperate when their vehicle was disabled, causing the initial shutdown of Highway 101.
