Roughly 40-thousand childcare workers will soon be able to unionize. That’s because governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law allowing workers who offer child care to families, who get government subsidies, to unionize. Child care workers in California have been trying to unionize since 2004. Eleven other states have already approved laws that allow childcare workers to unionize.
