A MAN WHO IS SAID TO HAVE PASSED THROUGH MONTEREY COUNTY IN 1981, HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF THE CHEWS RIDGE MURDERS OF 2 LOCAL TEENAGERS (13 YEAR-OLD TAMMY JARSCHKE, AND 14 YEAR-OLD TANYA JONES). BECAUSE 62 YEAR-OLD JOSEPH M NISSENSOHN WAS ALSO PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF THE 1990 SEX-MOTIVATED MURDER OF A WASHINGTON WOMAN, AND THE 1985 MURDER OF A SOUTH LAKE TAHOE GIRL, HE COULD FACE THE DEATH PENALTY.
THE PENALTY PHASE OF HIS TRIAL IS DUE TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 12TH.
NISSENSOHN’S GIRLFRIEND, WHO HE LATER FORCED TO BECOME HIS WIFE, REPORTEDLY TOLD AUTHORITIES THAT SHE BELIEVED HE WAS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR NUMEROUS EARLIER MURDERS.
